Emmanuel PitsiladisI first started making pottery at Ware College in 1990. I experimented with clays and glazes and discovered how expression and movement can be infused in any ceramic structure. My pottery is hand formed and shaped and tends to be more abstract than conventional. I work with the movements of the clay, following and enhancing the natural lines and shapes it creates during the formation stage. I enjoy making pottery and I have a particular interest in organic textures and glazing effects. This has led me to visit various places in China and Japan where I spent some time in pottery workshops learning the local techniques. You will find my pottery exhibited in venues organized by the Hertford Art Society and the Courtyard in Hertford. |
