Bill Dean ROI

Born in North London, I was educated at the Latymer School and studied at Hornsey College of Art. After National Service I entered teaching, retiring in 1986, my last post being in adult education in Kent.

I started painting in 1996 and found the most difficult area was what to paint that had not already been captured by other artists. I have always been interested in people so I decided to concentrate on depicting them at work, at play and in various moods.

Sometimes it works sometimes not but that uncertainty provides the challenge.
