Chris Benton

I am a clinical and research MRI neuro-radiographer and have been creating mixed media artwork often inspired by the anatomy and pathology I see on medical images since 2007.

Many of my medical artworks have been exhibited several times, most notably I was invited to take part in the British Institute of Radiology “the Art of Medicine” show in March 2009. My works have been featured on the covers of the UCLH staff magazine “Inside Story” and the Society of Radiographers publication “Synergy”.

I specialize in using recovered and recycled materials, indeed several of my works are made entirely from ‘found objects’ (apart from the paint and glue).

Since moving to Bengeo in 2011, I have been a member of the Hertford Art Society. I am also an active member at Courtyard Arts and was one of the artists that painted the Van Gogh mural in Hertford town centre.
