I have always loved drawing since a young age, and over the years have experimented with various mediums, such as oil and acrylic paints, ceramics, oil and chalk pastels, sketching and photography. I have to connect to my art on an emotional level as well as visually, and love getting into the zone, where my subconscious takes over.
I love sketching still life and particularly like life drawing and exploring in colours. My work is often layered, from backgrounds which were one thing and the top layers of something else, which reminds me of a constantly changing world, yet remnants of the past are still evident. I have also created works from visual pictures in my head and dreams.
It is always a joy to visit exhibitions and explore other artists. Some of my favourite artists are Gustav Klimt, Picasso, Lucien Freud, Anish Kapoor, Grayson Perry, Serephine Louis, Frida Kahlo, Jenny Saville, Paula Rego, Judy Chicago, and Fiona Scheibl.
I have been entering art exhibitions since 2010 and have sold several works. My current goals are to exhibit at the Royal Academy of Arts and also to have a solo exhibition.
